Rescue ATX Dogs Adoption Process:
Application: Fill out the Adoption Interest form.
Initial call: The potential adopter will speak to a director to align on interest in adopting and information about the dog.
Meet & greet: The location, attendees, and quantity of meet and greets is dependent on the dog and what’s best for them! For example, some rescue dogs may show more confidence by meeting their potential doggy siblings during the first meet, and some would prefer to meet in their foster home where they know the space. These details will be discussed once we’re in touch.
Home check: A director will conduct an in-person or virtual home check with all members in the home present.
Reference check: Vet and personal references will be contacted.
Adoption contract & fee: The adoption contract will be sent which includes uploading your photo ID & a nonrefundable $300 adoption fee.
Executed adoption: The rescue will countersign the contract and send you the dog’s medical records and transfer the microchip ownership. We welcome and encourage sending updates and pictures of the dog throughout their life with you!
