Bowie’s Happy Tail

Bowie

After losing my dog Bentley in December 2023 I often contemplated how I can best honor his life. In my time of healing his unexpected loss I knew that the best way was to open my heart once more to a dog in need. I stumbled upon RAD’s instagram page and saw a need for a foster of a stray dog who would be later known as my Bowie.

I am not sure of Bowie’s past outside of the fact that he was severely neglected, underweight and matted. Behind all this was a beautiful gentle soul. I remember his first night with us he immediately jumped into my arms and we cuddled on the couch for hours. He was intrigued by the tv and any sounds he would hear outside the patio. Within his first week with us as his foster parents I knew this would be a foster fail….something I was hoping for and a piece of my heart that was once again filled.

I may not know much of Bowie’s past but what I do know today is that he is my “little floof” and he fills our life with so much joy. We have routine dance parties when I come home from work, he LOVES fetch, and appreciates when I sing to him (even though I am not the best singer, lol). He loves humans and his doggy friends, and will always look for an opportunity to get a good cuddle session in by putting his paws in the air, and resting his head on my chest. He is also so smart and has learned some fun doggy tricks, and will solve a puzzle in seconds.

Overall he is a happy little guy and has taught me once again of how resilient he is despite what he may have been through.
